These Lith print images form part of a larger series of work ‘escapades’ begun during lockdown using items of clothing, accessories and footwear. The objects chosen for the series - including a child’s party dress, impossibly glamorous and impractical shoes and a pair of silver gloves from a fancy dress costume - provided evocative symbols of pre pandemic life. During lockdown, these objects and the social opportunities they represented became redundant and fantastical. My aim was to create photographic escapades – moments of excitement, danger and adventure in which dresses might fly and these objects occupy a parallel life independent of my own. The series was shot on slow speed Fomapan film. Many of the objects were suspended with fishing wire and lit to create drama. I used a variety of alternative processes and techniques to construct the final images.
